I had my dream home birth experience birthing my 5th son. Sarah opened her home to me for every prenatal visit with such warmth and welcoming. She listened to my health issues and gave great advice and direction. During my labor she was quick to get to my home with such reassurance and offered advice on positions during labor that helped me speed along. She was a soothing spirit during my labor and I felt fully taken care of. After the baby came and I later started to have some symptoms of a breast infection, she gave me a protocol that allowed me to avoid antibiotics and bounce back quickly. "I can't say enough good things about Sarah. She was a huge part of my support team for the birth of our baby boy in the wee hours of the morning on July 26, 2016. Before going into labor, Sarah was always available for advice. When it was game time, she really helped with maintaining my breath, gently suggesting changing position changes, and providing a comforting touch. She helped me feel in control throughout the process. I appreciated the affirmations she set up in my room and her words of encouragement. After 50 hours of labor, I had to transfer from Baby+Co to the hospital due to meconium. I was even more thankful to have her go with me and continue to support in the hospital. "Sarah was my birth doula for our first son born November 2016 as well as doing my placenta encapsulation. Being pregnant for the first time I had so many questions that Sarah was always quick to respond to and very thorough. I had a difficult labor with back pain that made it hard to relax but was determined to keep my birth nautral as long as I could. Sarah helped guide me through positions and knew when it was time to move onto something else before I even realized it. The BEST part was when she helped move my baby from a posterior position and got rid of my back labor! I made a personal decision to transfer from the birthing center to hospital to rest in the end. We later found out there was meconium while I was pushing but she helped keep me calm and assured me everything would be ok. She stayed right beside me while helping to encourage pushing my perfectly healthy 9.7 lbs baby into this world!
Not only was Sarah a huge support during birth for both my husband and I but afterwards as well. Being a new mom I had so many questions and concerns about care for our newborn, breastfeeding and my recovery.
